The Andes are turning green again.

A hundred years ago, the slopes of the Bolivian Andes were covered in dense, wild forest. Today, many areas are barren and dry. But the greenery is returning.

Since 2014, Naturefund has been planting new trees together with farming families and promoting dynamic agroforestry. This cultivation method regenerates soils, strengthens biodiversity, and enables stable yields. Over 40,000 trees have already been planted, and more than 400 families have switched to this sustainable farming method. Green islands are emerging again on the barren mountain slopes – creating new habitats and a better future for the local people.

Water reservoirs and irrigation systems help families to cultivate successfully, even in the arid mountain region. Every plant is a symbol of hope. Help us continue to bring the Andes to life.
