Elavon goes green and supports Naturefund projects

Naturefund is a nature conservation organisation which buys land for the protection of various species. In order to purchase as many meadows, forests, wetlands, and lakes as possible. They are dependent on donations which can now also be paid online by credit cards.

New service provided by Elavon

This new service has been provided by Elavon, a leading global card payment processor who processes Visa and MasterCard card payments for Naturefund on a non-profit basis. This saving enables Naturefund to invest even more in environmental projects. Elavon considers its environmental responsibility by not only offering a paperless reporting tool to its customers which helps to minimize de-forestation but also by supporting Naturefund projects with manpower.

Elavon employees volunteered in a re-naturisation day

Elavon employees volunteered in a re-naturisation day in Frankfurt which aimed to maintain an orchard in order to protect the habitat of local owls. Between cutting hedges and building birdhouses, the volunteers gained an interesting insight in the nature conservation of the biotope they helped to protect. “Nature doesn’t need mankind but we need nature. Therefore it becomes also economically more important for companies to implement activities that can help to secure the future of our planet”, says Kathrin Neidel, Country Head Elavon Germany.

Harvesting 2 tons of apples at an orchard

The fruitful co-operation between Naturefund and Elavon was also proven at a second activity day where Elavon employees harvested 2 tons of apples at an orchard in Frankfurt. As a result of the successful harvest, the apples will be distilled and then sold. The proceeds will be used to buy additional land for re-naturalisation in order to protect more local species.
