Already secured almost 10,000 square meters for the rescue of bison

Europe's largest land mammals have been roaming our native forests again since 2013! In 2013, eight animals were released into the wild by Wisent-Welt-Wittgenstein in Bad Berlenburg, Germany.

The bison seem to feel right at home in the 88-hectare area - the herd has now grown to 25 animals. We have been supporting the reintroduction project as a strategic partner since 2020. A lot has already happened in this one year: Not only were we able to secure 9,860 square meters for the rescue of the bison thanks to 68 godparents, we also actively supported Wisent-Welt in October last year in the construction of a trapping facility for the bison. Among other things, this is a great help for animal transports and medical examinations.

Please find here more information about the project "Wiesents in Germany".
