Owner of the meadows became the NABU Dieburg. Together with the nature conservation authority, he has dismantled the drainage ditches and will be responsible for the long-term maintenance of the area.

The biodiversity of the wet meadows includes mainly white storks, which breed here since 2002 after 40 years absence again. Since then they have successfully raised 22 young birds. Other species of birds such as the lapwing, the nightingale, the yellow wagtail, the oriole, stonechats or partridges are also living here. Often, one can also see great egrets, greenshank, golden plovers, shovelers, marsh hawks, hobbies and many other species while ingestion. Greenbacks and the large blue are also often discovered here.

To flora of the wet meadows includes the beautiful fringed pink, the purple avens and the endangered meadow saxifrage.
