Create a foundation
Today many people reflect on how they can use their assets in a social and ecological way. By establishing your own foundation, you have the chance to decide which aims to pursue in the long-term. As a general rule assets are received on a permanent basis, and just the revenue from such assets is used for the chosen aims.
Naturefund is able to take over the management of non-legally responsible charities and the administration of legally and non-legally responsible foundations, provided that the aims are in agreement with our policies.
Legally and non-legally responsible foundations
According to legislation 80 of the German civil code, a legally responsible foundation establishes and pursues charitable aims. This is supported by statutory regulations for foundations in all states of the Federal Republic of Germany. The aims of such a foundation should be stated in a written policy.
A non-legally responsible foundation is defined as the transfer of assets to a natural or legal entity, who will become the owner of the assets but who as trustee will act in accordance with the stated aims of the written policy.
A common roof
A non-legally responsible foundation is sufficient to establish a foundation. The setting-up process usually takes just a few weeks and often administrative costs can be reduced by the trustees overtaking them.
At the same time contacts of the trustees can be used to help realize the aims and to minimize the costs of establishing the foundation.
Tax benefits
Both types of foundation offer tax benefits: up to 1 million euros can be saved within ten years and eventually donations will become tax-free.
Should the foundation receive a bequeathment, the inheritance tax can be reimbursed for up to 24 months after receipt of the inheritance.
Common aims
When you can envisage that your aims could be fully or partly realised through the establishment of a foundation with Naturefund then we would be more than happy to discuss this with you. Please contact us on:
