In 2008 and 2009 Naturefund, together with Michelin, planted 30,000 trees across Europe. Trees were planted over an area of 90,000 square metres in Germany, Switzerland and Austria.

For all three reforestation projects, the aim was to support the development of a natural forest and to establish trees that could absorb the most CO₂ possible, thus giving ourselves a fighting chance against the approaching climate change.

Michelin joined this campaign with a friction tyre, which lowers fuel consumption and CO₂ emissions. For every one of those tyres sold in 2008, Michelin planted a tree.
